It’s a GOOD story….
We THINK we met in 2000 at All-State Orchestra. I was a Freshman in High School and Daniel was a Sophomore. We both studied in the cello studio of Martha Gerschefski and were members of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra. Daniel was the principal cellist of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra for the 2002-2003 season and I followed in his footsteps a year later and was principal for the 2003-2004 season.
After graduation, we both pursued a degree in cello performance in college. Daniel went to study with Andre Gaskins at Columbus State University for his undergrad and Southern Methodist University for his Masters where he studied with Andres Diaz. I went to Georgia State University and continued to study with Martha Gerschefski. After graduation, I started a wedding business, and Daniel built an online cello teaching business (OnlineCelloLessons.org) and works with his Dad on his online guitar teaching business.
After graduation our paths continued to cross. We both performed in regional symphony orchestras and became interested in bluegrass music. During our free time on symphony gigs, we had bluegrass jam sessions. Over the years, we shared so many amazing musical experiences together such as performing with Josh Groban, Il Divo, Evanescence and Lindsey Stirling.
In March of 2020, our musical world was absolutely devastated. Events were canceled and we saw our work disintegrate around us. During this time, Daniel and I began to meet up and play duets together…anddd maybe we started dating during that time 😍 We began to create unique classical, popular and bluegrass arrangements of familiar tunes for cello duo and solo cello. Next thing we knew, we started booking events together! We perform weddings and events under our group EliteStrings.com.
Aside from music, we both picked up playing billiards. We play in several local leagues a week. We live outside of Atlanta, Georgia with our 2 cats and we are expecting the arrival of our baby girl (Hallie) any day now!

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance, Georgia State University
EXPERIENCE: Over 15 years of experience in the wedding industry and co-founder of special events group Elite Strings. I maintain a busy performance schedule of weddings, worship services, recording sessions and occasionally work as a cellist on movie/television sets! My favorite career highlights are performing on stage with Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé, Evanescence, Josh Groban, Two Cellos, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and more. Recently, I have performed 50+ shows as the cellist at the Queens Ball Bridgerton Experience in Atlanta. My movie/television highlights include being featured as the alien cello player in Disney’s “Loki” and I was also featured in Netflix’s “Red Notice”. I am also a Disney Travel Specialist and am available to book your Disney adventures!

EXPERIENCE: A native of Atlanta, GA, Daniel has played the cello for 25 years. He has studied with Martha Gerschefski, Andre Gaskins, and Andres Diaz. From 2003-2020, he played in several regional symphony orchestras, including the Columbus, Macon, LaGrange, Albany, Johns Creek, Savannah, Augusta, Sarasota, Valdosta, Charleston, Greenville, Chattanooga and Alabama Symphonies. He has since shifted gears away from orchestral playing to focus more on his online teaching website, OnlineCelloLessons.org, and mainly performs for weddings and other private events, recording sessions, and church services. Daniel has been a major contributor in helping grow and build Elite Strings!
LOVES: Billiards, Poker, Bluegrass and Old-Time fiddle music, Movies, Craft Beer, and Chess.
FAMILY: He has two very loving and musical parents, an older sister, a younger brother, a beautiful daughter and his beautiful fiancé and life partner, Erica Ransbottom. Soon to be Dad to our little baby girl Hallie arriving soon!
FAVORITE MUSICAL EXPERIENCE: Performing with Yo-Yo Ma and the Greenville Symphony. Playing with Evanescence and orchestra. Arranging and performing various songs for our cello duo ‘A Couple Cellos’ with Erica Ransbottom.
